Today's CHRC Follies

Called before a House of Commons committee, Jennifer Lynch, the head of the CHRC finds she can't make time for the tribunes of the unwashed. Surprisingly, no one asks where Lynch is. (My bet is she's off vetting yet another empty op-ed piece written by a speechwriter). She sends a couple of flunkies who become blog fodder for my friend Kady at Maclean's.

Kadey's account was the most adult piece of writing on this I've seen in months. Too bad you couldn't follow suit.

Um, blow me.

I mean, really, that's all a comment like bcl's is worth. He only trades in insults. He can't argue facts. So, until he can, he gets the back of my hand.
I am quickly developing the conclusion that bcl, unlike many Liberal posters, is just stupid. I can at least see Dawg's position and agree with parts of it. Bcl's intellectual reach seems to begin and end with insults. So fuck him and the horse he rode in on.
I think the head of a federal agency should speak on its behalf at a Parliamentary committee. Lynch didn't. After her fiasco with CTV last Friday, she should have shown up. You make time for the elected representatives of the Canadian people, out of respect both for Parliament and for the people it serves.

Bourrie is obviously a deep thinker, and capable of presenting a well-defined rebuttle against those he disagrees with.

Or...not.

If the spirit moves me.

Interesting read about wartime censorship Mark. I see you have attracted the usual crowd of useful idiots trying to defend the indefensible. Keep up the good work. I personally loved your first reply to bigcitylib. He really is a pompous ass.

How dare you? Don't you know Bourrie is a scholar? A scholar!
